Anton Stryhas

Anton goes all the way to the roots of JMG being instrumental in developing virtually every player that the academy has produced since its inception. His teaching, leadership, and mentorship ensured JMG is recognized today as one of the most successful tennis academies on both the US and international tennis levels. With over 15 years of coaching experience, multiple professional players produced, and dozens of college tennis standouts raised, Anton now leads JMG towards the development of future tennis champions and young athletes who love the game of tennis.
Numerous professional players thrived under Anton’s mentorship during their junior & pro development years, including Jenson Brooksby, Katie Volynets, Collin Altamirano, Alexis Nguyen, & others. At the age of 17, Brooksby won USTA National Hardcourt 18s Championships and competed at the US Open that year. Jenson went on to win multiple Grand Slam matches; ATP 250 titles & finals at Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, & Newport; ATP Challenger Titles, recording wins over several top 10 ranked ATP players, including Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, Frances Tafoe, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Karen Khachanov, Casper Ruud, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and others. In 2022, Jenson achieved his highest to the date ATP ranking of #33.
Collin Altamirano was the first unseeded player in history to win the USTA National Hardcourt 18s Championships in 2013 to grant him the entry into US Open that year. Collin also won USTA National Hardcourt 18s Championships in 2014 in doubles. Other achievements include US Open 2018 main draw, three professional ITF singles titles, three professional ITF doubles titles, and three NCAA National Titles at the University of Virginia.
Katie Volynets joined JMG in her late teens. She won multiple National and ITF titles throughout her junior years, including USTA National Hardcourt 18s Championship, which made her the top junior player in the nation. Katie improved her WTA ranking from 500 to top 100 and recorded multiple Grand Slam victories while training at the academy.
The list of players who trained with Anton & other coaches at JMG and received athletic scholarships to D1 universities includes athletes of all backgrounds and genders, entering such prestigious institutions as Stanford, Harvard, Baylor, Virginia, Columbia, UCLA, USC, San Diego, North Carolina, Rice, Pepperdine, LSU and many others.
After serving in an executive role as the Director of Racquet Sports at Marin Tennis Club for the past three and a half years and elevating the level of tennis in the Bay Area, Anton is returning to JMG as the Academy Director/Owner to raise the new generation of champions and continue developing young tennis players with the passion for the sport.
