“Our home is in Santa Barbara and we chose to send Collin to train with Joseph in Sacramento because we trusted him and believed in his style of coaching. Through his dedication and effortless coaching ability he has transformed my son’s game. About once a month we get to see Collin play and his game keeps getting stronger and stronger…his rate of improvement is impressive. Joseph is an amazing coach, we couldn’t be happier!”

“Joseph is the first coach we have found that genuinely cares how our son and daughter perform and learn. He truly develops their overall game. He understands the whole process and the dynamics of raising a junior player. He also has insight for the parents that is really helpful in developing junior players. He instills a belief in them that I couldn’t find anywhere else. In summary, he cares about making the best tennis player that your child is capable of being. Joseph is an integral part of the JMG Tennis group program. It’s well organized and has other coaches that work well together. The biggest standout for us is that all these coaches give constructive feedback, which is integral part of a successful program. These junior players get individual attention regularly to assist in their improvement.”

JMG Tennis provides my daughter a place to train at the highest level on a daily basis, with other top junior players in Northern CA and with coaches that she trusts and who are invested on a personal level in her long-term success. Every day at JMG includes focused and intense drilling, match-play and fitness training. Joe Gilbert’s dedication, intensity and work-ethic are contagious and set an example that the kids follow in their approach to the game. These qualities coupled with a quick wit and natural charisma with his players, make Joe one of those rare coaches that kids want to work hard for!.

Initially we were drawn to the group program, wanting our son to train with a group of highly skilled and motivated players. The sessions are well planned and executed with good supervision and discipline. The kids work hard-100% effort and exacting execution are required at all times-but at the end of the day, there are plenty of smiles. We were immediately impressed with Joseph's expertise and approach to player development. His direct communication style works well in teaching our son - not only the hows of a new technique, but also the whys-all resulting in better play on court while building trust and respect. In relatively short time, working with Joseph at the academy has led our son to substantial improvement, greater challenges and growing confidence. Thank you to all of the JMG Academy coaches for your day by day commitment to improving our son's tennis!

Sacramento finally has a premier junior tennis program. JMG Academy players are nationally competitive and locally the best. The players get training, fitness, expectations and RESULTS. Our daughters are challenged at every practice. This is a group of focused, high-energy players, with lots of individual coaching. Every player at the academy succeeds both in life and tennis. This is a unique place for training! These are just a few reasons why our daughters train at JMG Tennis Academy.

We were looking for a tennis coach and a tennis academy that provided the keys to unlock the door to personal excellence for our daughter. We chose Joseph Gilbert and the JMG Academy because Joseph and his team promote an environment where the demand for excellence is not the exception, but rather the prevailing attitude. Joseph recognizes that excellence is an ability won by discipline, training and habituation. Commitment to his players is reflected through actions, intelligent planning and focused work. JMG fosters an atmosphere where the coach and the family work collaboratively to instill the desire to succeed, the will to win and the urge for the player to reach their full potential.
